Cuisinart Food Processor Helped Me Break Up With Simple Carbs

I had to cut back on my simple carbohydrates. I realized that this was not going to be an easy task to accomplish and I was going to have to ease my way into it.

I used to be a diehard carb lover. I ate a ton of bread, bagels for breakfast, always some variation of potatoes with dinner, or I’d whip up some sort of rice. I just loved it all.

I would always wonder why I was feeling sluggish most days. I figured I wasn’t drinking enough water, or maybe I was sitting too much throughout the day. I’m sure those were all contributing factors, but after reading an article in a popular magazine regarding the health and fitness of women, I realized that my carb intake was probably a big part of my issue.

I had to cut back on my simple carbohydrates. I realized that this was not going to be an easy task to accomplish and I was going to have to ease my way into it. I started slowly by replacing one simple carb a day with a better option, like cauliflower rice, different whole grains, or a whole wheat option when it came to breads and pastas.

I gradually started to feel better, so I began to include healthier substitutions for more of my meals. Once I realized that the way I was feeling was better than any food was when I really went all out. I gave up most simple carbs. Once in a while if I was out I’d order pasta or I’d cheat and order a pizza for delivery. I had to brace myself for the after effects of these types of carbs.

I began using my Cuisinart food processor to make these healthier options. I made my own riced cauliflower, which I could use for so many different things, including a low carb cauliflower bagel, and whole wheat pizza crusts. The best part was that I could make these in larger batches and freeze them for future use.

I bought myself some brand new blades and the one thing I was really excited for: my dough blade. I use it so much now to whip up all kinds of whole wheat dough. I love it.

My body is much happier now that I’ve cut out most of these simple carbohydrates. I’ve lost some weight and my bloodwork and vitals are all in tip top shape. I don’t even crave the old stuff anymore, except for that occasional pizza, and even when I do have it I never really feel like it’s worth it anyway. I’m so thankful that I was able to break this bad habit with the use of my Cuisinart food processor.
